Japan ~ Day 2, 12 May (Part I)
Monday, June 1, 2009
I shall begin my exciting Day 2 in Japan... We had to wake up 4 plus in the morning to get the first RomanceCar to Hakone. But............. we couldn't make it in time and took a cab to the Shinjuku Station. Let me show you how much we pay for our cab!!!

We spent alot of time, figuring how to get the correct station and how to purchase the Hakone Freepass including limited express RomanceCar. The ticket counter was not open and the station staff wasn't very friendly. We had to find out ourselves. Fortunately we met a nice lady in time and most importantly she can understand English. She helped us check with the staff and we managed to get the tickets before 7 a.m. If you like to know how to purchase, the two tickets are to purchase separately. Hakone Free Pass (allows you to take unlimited transport rides in Hakone) costs 5000yen and RomanceCar ticket is 870 yen (able to reserve the seats).

The journey is long, about 90 min. Hakone is very different from Tokyo. The weather is cooler and more "hometown" like.

Walking to our Hotel (Senkei)... The distance is actually quite far... Along the way, there are many beautiful scenaries.

Is it beautiful? This is where we stayed for the one night in Hakone! Hotel Senkei!
We registered and checked in, left our luggage with the staff and proceed our journey to Owakudani Valley. We took three different transports - Hakone Tozan Railway, Cablecar and Ropeway.

Here we are! We reached Owakudani Valley and SAW................. MOUNT FUJI! Sometimes if the weather is not good, people don't get to see. So you can imagine how excited we were, shouting and screaming how blessed we are, how wonderful DaddyGod is!

We stayed out taking photos for quite some time. It was not easy to get a good one and the weather is SOOOOOOooooo cold and we were hungry too. After we had enough, we went to a nearby restaurant which is famous for their black japanese curry for lunch.

I don't know if we are hungry or... every food we tried seems to be very tasty and delicious. Or maybe Japanese are very particular with their food and service quality.
After the lunch, the weather became so cloudy that we can't see Mount Fuji anymore...
We slowly made our way up Owakudani Valley. It's an area around a crater created during the last eruption of Mount Hakone some 3000 years ago. Visitors can buy eggs which are cooked in the naturally hot water, whose shells are blackened by the sulfur. We got our eggs FREE. Haha! We met a very nice Korean man. We wanted to take photos of eggs but he offered the remaining 4 to us. Very gentleman.

Misty?
Not only misty... we seriously can't see clearly and very COLD.... The next destination is HOT SPRING - Yunessun. A place we had been looking forward to.............
