Kukup Trip ~ 21 Sep 08

Sometimes in September, I went out of Singapore. Not very far though, just went to Malaysia, Kukup with Clara's family, Joline and my sister, Jane. Baby was supposed to be the one going. Too bad, he missed out those relaxing moments and food!
The trip started early in the morning, all of us gathered outside Clara's house. A mini van drove us into Malaysia and around the places to visit. We had breakfast at a coffeeshop. The peanut and corn pancakes are

Our first destination was a Chinese Temple. The surroundings are beautifully decorated, really good for photo-taking. When entered the temple, it's dark and quite scary as all the statues are black in colour. Clara went missing, couldn't find her to take photos with us.

Next destination was the boat ride to the kelong and seafood lunch. The weather was really hot. The walking on the platform to the kelong was the most challenging of the trip. The wooden platforms weren't very stable and not nailed properly. We were so afraid that we will fall into the sea.

Nothing much to see at the kelong... the boy showed us pufferfish, baby shark and one special fish with a very hard shell on it. I didn't pay much attention to his introduction... just realised that Clara's dad is a very curious man. According to her mum, her dad loves nature.

We visited roadside's fruit stalls as well... selling tropical fruits but we didn't buy any fruit, just a bunch of banana and everyone shared.

The last destination before going for our own shopping was the Chocolate Factory. It is a very presentable chocolate shop with a team of very friendly and lonely staff. Why lonely? Because the whole street is quite deserted. I don't remember seeing other people. We were the only customers then. No business at all. The unique chocolate flavour they have is tomato chocolate. Interesting...
Jusco is the shopping centre that we were given about 2 hours plus to shop. Things there are not cheap. The prices are almost the same as Singapore. So we just walked around the place and found seats & chill at Starbucks till the time up.

We had our dinner in a club. Just nice that time, the club was having a singing competition. It was quite a formal event. Every participants dressed up very grand ~ gowns and suits. The dinner serves better than the lunch. At least the place is air-conditioned. Overall, the trip can considered good. Each of us only paid $57 for the food and sightseeing. It was cheap. Once a while is good. :)
